Mike Perry, Roof System Specialist, will discuss the major roles that a building's roofing system and building envelope play in the control of unwanted moisture entering the building, and thereby contaminating it and its contents. The process required to ensure that a building's waterproof integrity is accomplished and maintained will be discussed from design to preventive maintenance. 2 LUs or 2 HSWs
Minimizing Liability Utilizing the RFI and Submittal Process

Join Dan Medley, ACI, to learn how to create and proactively manage RFI and submittal logs. By understanding this process, you will be able to build a better building and minimize risks due to errors or omissions in the documents, miscommunication within the RFI process or untimely submittal responses. 1.5 LUs or 1.5 HSWs

Paul Lodholz, AIA, along with an attorney, will review and discuss the procedures related to contract administration. Specific requirements and rules set by AIA 201 will be explained for use in the field.

Session 3 - Special Building Types

This session, given by Teresa Darr, AIA, and Doug Darr of Accessibility Check, is one of a three part series that will provide a more comprehensive review of the requirements for special building types under TAS. Special building types include sections 4.33 Assembly Areas, 5. Restaurants & Cafeterias, 6. Medical Facilities, 8. Libraries, and 9. Transient Lodging. The discussion will focus on the most commonly missed items and misunderstandings found during a plan review and inspection including current interpretations by TDLR.

Update of Proposed Changes to ADAAG Standards

Hermis, Jr., a registered accessibility specialist with ACI, will discuss the proposed changes to the updated guidelines (which have not yet been adopted) for facilities covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The revised ADA and ABA accessibility guidelines will feature updated scooping and technical requirements and a new format and numbering system. 2 LUs or 2 HSWs
Proposed Changes to the Master Format, Emerging Technologies and a Check List for Future Proofing
