The Houston Architecture Foundation
is a catalyst for public understanding and interest in architecture and urban design.
The Houston Architecture Foundation
is a non-profit education and charitable organization designated by the IRS as a 501 (c)3 corporation that
promotes awareness, understanding and appreciation of the ways in which architecture and urban design
influence and enhance the quality of life in the community and the built environment.

• Statement of financial condition of the organization (an audited Financial Report
from the previous fiscal year or the most recent 990 tax return)
This material should be sent to the Foundation office at
3000 Richmond Avenue, Suite 500, Houston 77098.
Applicant will be called for an appointment to present the request to the Foundation Board.

Houston Architecture Foundation (HAF) is a non-profit education and charitable
organization designated by the IRS as a 501 (c)3 corporation. HAF promotes awareness,
understanding and appreciation of the ways in which architecture and urban design influence
and enhance the quality of life in the community and the built environment.
The Houston Architecture Foundation looks for projects that are exemplary in effect and have the potential for significant impact on:
Public Awareness of the benefits of good design
Quality of Life in the Houston area
Civic Environments
The Public Realm
The projects should:
Elevate the Human Spirit
Have a Public purpose and public support
Create Civic and Cultural Capital/ Benefit beyond the project area

Document the work done to date:
Who: Who are your supporters? (Local community members, foundations, etc.) Who: Who have you talked to? (City, county, state, federal representatives etc.) What: What research supports the underlying concepts of the project? How: How feasible is the project? When: Provide a timeline for design, funding, construction of the project.
Project a budget:
For the proposed grant from HAF for project development costs.
For the fully funded project for construction or implementation
Appended to the proposal will be an:
Appendix: Statement of your organization's
financial and organizational condition (Since most projects will require follow through for a minimum of one year,
and likely much longer for larger projects, we are looking for institutional history and board governance
information that will assure the sponsoring group will be able to provide oversight and be able to administer the project to
completion.)
