JOB SUMMARY

This position is accountable for managing the planning, design, implementation and construction of medical and research buildings and renovations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the RFP/RFQ process for vendor selection. Oversee and manage the programming and space planning process. Oversee and manage master planning of site utilization and transportation. Oversee and manage the architectural design process. Oversee and manage construction process. Manage special consultants or vendors controlled by the owner. Serve as liaison to management, user groups and other stakeholders. Ensure adherence to quality and performance goals for the projects. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Undergraduate Degree in Architect, Engineering, or related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

10 yrs of experience in planning sophisticated research and medical buildings in an institutional environment. A broad and comprehensive background in business administration, building design, and construction management. Requires extensive experience working with architects, engineers, space planners, contractors, and other special consultants encountered during the planning, design, and construction process.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

Licensed Architect or Registered Engineer preferred.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Medical facility, lab design, architectural/engineering design and documentation, construction contracting, and general construction.
