As an architect, what should you know about the growing popularity of Project Policies covering the entire design team and other Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIPs)? At this seminar, David Arnsten of Commercial Insurance Concepts review Project Policies and offers an overview of the insurance requirements of the 1997 A201, with emphasis on the changes between the 1987 and 1997 editions. Specifically, the program addresses the associated indemnity provision and the Project Management Protective Liability insurance referenced in the indemnity provision as well as in Article 11.3.

Cal Zenor, the speaker, has been in the fire stop industry for 16 years. His presentation includes a review of fire stopping in wood frame construction vs. masonry structures, construction joints-perimeter curtain and top of wall, and remediation of fire rated doors as related to positive pressure testing.

Wendy Trachte-Huber of the American Arbitration Association reviews the changes to AIA contracts related to alternate dispute resolution (ADR). At this seminar, participants will learn to distinguish between three forms of appropriate dispute processes: arbitration, mediation, and negotiation. Using role playing and through interaction with the speaker, participants will learn to identify and practice six negotiation tactics and strategies.
