The 2001 Referral System commences November 1. There are over 35 categories to choose from. To date the residential category, both new construction and remodeling, have received the most requests. The Chapter office receives calls daily. To participate, complete the insert in the September/October newsletter Perspective and mail or fax back to the Chapter office 713/520-5134.

Robert Stamps has joined MCM Security Design Consultants, Inc. as the newest member of their Security Design Consulting team.

Philo & Wilke Architects has developed the new expanded geriatric patient care facility at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

Ziegler Cooper Architects announces the completion of the new 15,000 sf corporate headquarters of Mission Resources (formerly Bellwether Exploration), and have been commissioned to redesign the 2200 West Loop South office building.

Construction at Jefferson at President's Park, a luxury apartment community, has recently been completed by EDI Architecture, Inc. Phase II is now under construction at Village Walk at Southampton.

Robert Denton, an educator for 30 years and a former school superintendent, has been hired by 3D/International, Inc. to manage a new services group, which will offer educational facility adequacy assessments to the K-12 market.

Cobourn Linseisen & Ratcliff, Inc. will celebrate their 25th year anniversary with the lighting of the new CLR sign that now identifies the 13100 Northwest Freeway building where the firm is headquartered. Jonathan Hopko, PE, has joined the firm as project manager in the Municipal Division.

Rey de la Reza Architects, Inc. recognizes the outstanding contribution of two valuable employees, Alison Boyles, AIA, and Lorie Westrick, AIA. Both have been elevated to Principals in the firm. Morris Architects recently completed the 21,000 sf facility which serves as the Morgan Group's National Headquarters in Houston. They also announce that Mark Martof has joined the firm as Senior Project Manager in its Performing Arts Studio based in Houston.

KM+P won three 2001 Gold Nugget Awards of Merit at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference in San Francisco, California: Parkside at Kingwood Glen, The Retreat at Mountain Village, and Cabot Bay at Bridgeport.

Morris Architects has been selected as architect for the Williams Trace Baptist Church expansion. They have also designed a new look for the First City Tower making the space more pedestrian-friendly.

Walter S. Symonds, AIA Emeritus, died July 27, 2001. He graduated with a BArch from Rice University in 1942.
